THE MOST KNOWN PROBLEM... MARRIAGE UNEQUALITY.
They are not able to marry except for in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Luxembourg, some parts in Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom (England, Wales and Scotland), 39 states of the United States and Uruguay.
BUT IT GETS WORSE; HOMELESSNESS.
A lot of the LGBT youth are kicked out of their houses for the sexuality and/or gender identity. 40% of homeless youth identify as LGBT. 68% of those kids were kicked out of their families and homes because of their sexual orientation/gender identity, and 54% were survivors of abuse from their families. These usually lead to mental and physical health issues and criminalization.
THEY ARE AT HIGH-RISK FOR MURDER AND VIOLENT ATTACKS.
There are many anti-LGBT violence attacks, in fact over 2,000 incidents alone in 2012. LGBT members are often bullied and driven to the point of depression and suicide in many cases. People of color that are part of the LGBT community are 2 times more likely to be victims.
ECONOMIC INJUSTICE
Many LGBT members have lower in-come than those who are not in the community. They are often denied employment, have lack of insurance, end up homeless, which makes them very vulnerable to economic injustice. They are significantly more likely to be under the poverty line, and it's even worse for people of color.
